A construction site is not usually considered a crime scene. However, it has been reported that construction sites are low risk, high opportunity locations for thieves and the estimated annual value of stolen construction materials ranges from $300 million ~ $1 billion in the US alone. CCTV systems are used to detect and deter these criminal activities. Usually, camera footage is stored on sites, but in this case the images can be compromised or stolen outright.
