Sensor Structure:

The FX3 model features a back-illuminated Full Frame Exmor R™ CMOS sensor that provides lightning-fast data readout, high sensitivity, and a broad dynamic range. An advanced color filter array enhances color reproduction accuracy, while the focusing plane phase-detection AF offers robust autofocus stability and excellent precision; all contributing to exceptional image quality.

Compared to the BIONZ X processor, the BIONZ XR Processor is up to 8 times more powerful

The BIONZ XR image processing engine is designed for high speed, minimizing lag with impressive real-time processing capabilities. The engine performs real-time processing of AF, image recognition, and image quality adjustments, while also managing data transmission, user interface, and other camera operations.

Captivating AF performance at 4K 120 Fps

The new Exmor R Full Frame image sensor and revolutionary BIONZ XR image processing engine deliver spot-on AF at all times and mesmerizing 4K videos even at 120 frames or in slow motion, with the resolution and depth of field that only a Full Frame sensor can provide.

10 bit 4:2:2 recording

Record internally in the camera with the stunning richness offered by 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color depth for image sequencing, post-processing, and much more color space.

Superior quality and smaller files with XAVC HS

The new XAVC HS recording format leverages HEVC/H.265 formats to achieve double the compression efficiency of AVC/H.264 encoding for superior image quality and smaller file sizes.

Secure shooting with recording lamps during video recording

A warning signal light is located at the front and back, and the top-mounted LED-illuminated record button works in conjunction with the warning signal lights. Also, a red square is displayed on the monitor screen during video recording, allowing instant confirmation of the recording status even when the screen is hard to see due to attached accessories or gimbals. The operation of the lights can be turned on and off for specific applications.

Wide Dynamic Range with High Sensitivity

The Full Frame sensor camera provides high sensitivity with low noise across its entire range. Capture clear motion even in low light conditions with an impressive ISO range extended up to 409600. Videos offer a wide dynamic range of up to 15+ stops without blown highlights. The high sensitivity and wide dynamic range of the FX3 enhance your flexibility in post-production.

Professional camera with S-Log3 gamma, S-Gamut3.Cine gamut

S-Log2 and S-Log3 picture profiles are available; S-Log3 provides better tonal rendering from shadows to the mid-grey range (18% grey) for up to 15+ stops of dynamic range. For matching with other Cinema Line cameras featuring S-Log3, three color gamut settings (S-Gamut, S-Gamut3, and S-Gamut3.Cine) are available, offering creative flexibility and efficiency in post-production.
