Security surveillance solutions come with numerous challenges that vary according to the circumstances. Building efficient surveillance systems becomes even more challenging for large areas. They include much more extensive ecosystems that require retrofit options, reliable connectivity and the ability to install multiple cameras without overcomplicating the entire infrastructure. For example, parking lot surveillance involves remote objects outside.

In this case, a power supply can become an issue, as the Ethernet cable can only cover distances of up to 100 meters, making connecting cameras to the internet a challenge. With solutions like these, choosing the right connectivity product is crucial and can significantly impact the installation timeline and costs.
In this solution, a powerful Gigabit Ethernet router - RUTX08 - provides connectivity for the entire ecosystem. The RUTX08 is a rugged industrial router with advanced security features and compliance with RMS. Where a wired network is not available, a cellular router can also be an option.
The RUTX08 connects to the TSW200 switch via Ethernet to provide internet connectivity to the entire solution. This unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet device has eight PoE+ ports, enough to connect five CCTV cameras and two Access Points while running them simultaneously. The PoE+ standard included in the TSW200 provides up to 30W of power per port with a power budget of 240W, enough for even more power hungry PTZ cameras. In addition, Gigabit Ethernet offers sufficient speed and throughput for efficient video data transfer in real time.
As a solution requires connecting more cameras (or other devices) to the ecosystem, there is the possibility of using more TSW200 switches. In scenarios where solution elements are spread over a large area, each TSW200 has two SFP ports to establish long-range fiber optic communication. It allows to reliably connect one TSW200 to another, even if they are more than 100m away from each other and maintain the same speed level.
An infrastructure as large as this comes with maintenance and support challenges. A security system serves its purpose only if it is up and running without downtime. Therefore, remote management capability becomes essential to run diagnostics and updates or to receive notifications when something out of the ordinary happens. Teltonika Networks Remote Management System (RMS) allows you to handle all these tasks and even securely access devices outside Teltonika Networks for remote configuration and troubleshooting. Combining these features provides a reliable high bandwidth solution with minimal installation and maintenance resources thanks to PoE+ and RMS support.
Advantages
Eight PoE+ ports are enough to connect and power a large ecosystem of devices with a 240 W power budget.
SFP connectivity serves in scenarios where remote items require reliable and fast connectivity.
The industrial design of the TSW200 switch enables it to withstand harsh conditions and extreme temperature ranges (-40*C to 75°C).
Compatibility with RMS enables simple remote maintenance and diagnostics to prevent any downtime or security threats
